Tramshed Tech and TechSPARK UK enter into partnership for cross channel tech brand

Tramshed Tech, a Welsh tech accelerator and incubator hub is reaching across the Bristol channels as it is all set to enter into a strategic partnership with TechSPARK UK, a leading West Country sector support organization for the tech and digital industry. This new group will be branded TechSpark Wales and will work with digital and tech companies of all sizes. It will represent the strategic interests of the English and Welsh technology sectors under a joint brand.

New industry partnership

The new not-for-profit group will cement the relationship by signing another partnership agreement across the English Channel. It claims to be joining forces with SQY to identify cross-border growth opportunities for the UK, Welsh, and French tech sector companies across a slew of tech disciplines including AI, cyber, data, green tech and fintech.

This breakthrough international initiative is being supported by the UK and Welsh governments with a formal MoU singing ceremony that will be hosed at the UK Embassy in Paris today, at the UK Ambassador’s residence.

This latest tech partnership with SQY & TechSPARK Wales, supported by the Welsh & UK Governments, will allow all the partners to continue to power collaborative workspaces, business growth services, specialist partnership programmes, fully funded skills training (with vendor quals) across our combined range of incubator and accelerator programmes, on a wider and grander scale: locally, nationally and internationally, to grow exciting new cross-border opportunities.

Also, it will help identify and develop new talent for the tech and digital industry at a time when attracting talent is a long-standing challenge, especially diverse talent within the tech sector. Tramshed Tech is passionate about making an impact in this space and is committed to creating new industry entry-level job opportunities through the UK Government’s Kickstart Scheme.

“We at Tramshed Tech are delighted to see this series of high-level discussions between us finally come to fruition, reflected in both of these new ground-breaking industry partnerships. Over three years in the making, from the earliest discussions between us to the setting up of TechSPARK Wales and the final signing of our new Memorandum of Understanding with SQY – initiated before the onset of COVID – we have been supported in our ambitious plans by the Welsh and UK Governments.” said Mark John, Director ar Tramshed Tech.

“This is a great example of how tech businesses across the UK and internationally can come together for the greater good. Having worked with the team at Tramshed for over three years as joint founder members of the UK Tech Cluster Group, we at TechSPARK UK have seen first-hand the effect, impact and benefit of collaborative working in consultation with forward-thinking partners. We see huge opportunities for our networks to work together to achieve even greater and quicker growth for the sector, both sides of the Severn Bridge – and we look forward to continuing and extending that relationship with our wonderful new international partners across the channel in France at SQY”, said Ben Shorrock, MD, TechSpark UK.
