How To Get FinTech SEO Right

Since 2011, FinTech has increased rapidly in importance and popularity. Examples of financial innovations include blockchain and IoT, payment solutions, artificial intelligence, hyper-automation, and cloud computing. With customers searching for answers online, FinTech companies must be there. Whether you’re launching a new product or are looking to grow your brand, your business needs SEO, as it’s the most viable and cost-effective way to reach clients.

Here are some tips to help you rank higher in online searches.

1. Put A Lot of Effort into Your Keyword Research

Keywords bridge what people are searching for and the content you provide to fill that need. Thus, if you want to get in front of your audience as it conducts online searches (and gain more traffic), use keywords in your marketing that your ideal client will type into the search box. Put yourself in the buyer persona’s shoes and think about what topics you’d be interested in. Potential customers might be using keywords like:

  • Financial technology companies
  • Embedded finance
  • Fintech consultancy
  • Fintech solutions for financing
  • Fintech payments

This list isn’t exhaustive. While many people use single words for their searches, some use extensive phrases with two or more keywords.

2. Research & Analyze Your Audience

A good grasp of the audience is essential for FinTech SEO, so know who’s searching for the keywords that lead to your website. Once you know who these people are, you can use the right tactics to grab their attention. As you already know, there are two types of FinTech users, namely consumer and business users, and each category requires tailored content. Don’t assume anything. Read up on case studies, examples, and psychological analyses to anticipate buyer behaviour. Analytics tools like Google Trends give you a comprehensive look at the marketplace, so you can assess competition, find new customers, and discover ways to improve.

3. Have Reputable Websites Link Back to Your Website

Links reveal to search engines like Google that your website is a quality resource, so if authoritative sites link back to yours, you’ll rank higher in the SERPs. Create compelling content that others will naturally want to reference, put your product or service (or website) in front of influencers in your industry, and ask people you know and work with to link to your site. While backlinking is relatively straightforward, it takes time and strategy; at least you don’t have to be a FinTech SEO expert.

4. Establish A Social Presence

Social media benefits your company, as you can position yourself as an authority, boost your SEO score, and reach clients who don’t know what your business is about. Determine what social media platform to focus on – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, or LinkedIn. See where your target audience is most likely to be and use that social media channel to make long-lasting connections. Research your blog posts, have compelling CTAs, and make the most of images. Focus on keywords, rather than hashtags, for improved FinTech SEO.

5. Have A Strong Local SEO Strategy

Focus on improving your rankings and visibility in local search engine results. You’re not a market leader, which means you can’t compete successfully at the national or international level from the very get-go. Local SEO helps you stand out across industries and attract customers, so don’t waste any more time and sign up for a Google business profile to show up across products like Search and Maps. The business profile is open to clients to leave reviews, add photos, ask questions, and even answer questions. If you’re an online-only business, stick to Google Ads.

Finally, don’t be afraid to ask for professional help with your FinTech SEO. The experts will help you capture much-needed market share.
