How to download your Fitbit data and delete your account

(Pocket-lint) – If you own a Fitbit device, you may be concerned about how Google plans to use your health data now that it owns the company.

Google promised it will “never sell your personal information to anyone”, and that “Fitbit health and wellness data will not be used for Google ads”. It also plans to give Fitbit users the option to “review, move, or delete their data”.

If you still want to leave the Fitbit platform though, here’s how to delete your Fitbit account and your download your data.

  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Data Export from the menu bar on the left.
  5. Pick a time period.
  6. Pick a preferred file format
  7. Click Download.
